Welcome to Grace Anglican Church

A Letter from Dave Ponting, Rector

Dave Ponting, Rector

Hello. I’m Dave Ponting, the rector of Grace Anglican Church here in Brantford. Grace Church has been a fixture here in the city since 1830. It was the first Christian church in Brantford and has a long and faithful story of service to God and the community.

As you can see from browsing our website, there’s a lot going on at Grace these days too. We are about so much more than just quality worship in an amazing building. Grace is a vibrant, vital faith community that looks beyond itself to the needs of others. We have an exciting new chaplaincy program to the students of the Laurier and Mohawk campuses. We are also taking very seriously our responsibility to reach out with anti-poverty initiatives to those in need in the inner city core. We have a weekly meal every Wednesday that regularly serves dinner to almost 200 people; and we provide food aid to families in need.   We also offer a ministry to seniors and have excellent marriage preparation and baptism preparation programmes.

I’m excited about Grace Church. We are an inclusive community of seekers, looking to share our understanding of what it means to be the church in a world looking for meaning and hope.

If you are looking for a place to volunteer, or call your spiritual home, a listening ear, or just a friendly smile on a blue day I hope that you will check us out.
