Pastoral Care
The ministry of listening from a faith perspective is an important part of the ministry at Grace Anglican, Brantford. The Rector of Grace is available to anyone who seeks his pastoral care, whether a member of the parish or someone from the outside community. The most frequently requested pastoral ministry includes couples and crisis counselling, pre-marital preparation, and relationship counselling. The rector also has experience in prison chaplaincy.
Confidentiality is assured. If you are in need of the pastoral care ministry of Grace Church, just call and ask for an appointment with the rector. He will try to see you quickly.
Because the rector is a trained pastoral counselor and not a trained therapist, appointments are limited to a maximum of six occasions. The pastor is trained to refer you to appropriate counselling services should additional appointments be necessary or desired by you.
Ministry to Shut-Ins and Seniors
Members of Grace Church and the rector regularly lead monthly worship at two area nursing homes – the John Noble home and Charlotte Villa. If you know of a senior or shut-in who is in need of a pastoral visit please call the church office.
Hospital Visitation
The rector of Grace is on the hospital “on-call” list and visits the hospital several times a week. Please let the office know if you would like a hospital visit for yourself, a loved one, or friend. Honourary Assistant, the Reverend Alex Morris was a longtime chaplain at Brantford General Hospital and is also available for crisis care and visiting.
